About City

Manila is the Philippines' capital and second-most populous city, officially known as the City of Manila. It's heavily developed, and as of 2019, it was the world's most densely populated city proper. Manila, together with Mexico City and Madrid, has been recognised as one of the world's first major cities since its commercial networks were the first to extend across the Pacific Ocean and link Asia with the Spanish Americas. As it passes through the city's centre, the Pasig River divides it into north and south parts.

Manila is regarded as one of the best shopping destinations in Asia. Two of the city's most well-known shopping destinations are Divisoria and Lucky Chinatown. Robinsons Place Manila is the city's largest shopping centre. The National Museum Complex of the National Museum of the Philippines, which is located in Rizal Park, houses the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum of Anthropology, the National Museum of Natural History, and the National Planetarium. Many Taoist and Buddhist temples, such as Seng Guan Temple and Ocean Sky Chan Monastery, cater to the spiritual needs of the city's Chinese Filipino population.
